After School Club & Holiday Club 

After School Club
 

We pick up from all local schools (Newton, Nottage, Porthcawl & West Park). Using our 'Walking Bus' we walk the children back to the club where they will be given a light, healthy snack for example toast, crackers, fruit and cereal. 

Whilst at the club there will be lots if free choice activities that they can engage in, such as arts & crafts, role play, board games and physical activities. 
Weather permitting, there will be trips to local beaches and parks. 
We collect children from school at their school's normal end of day time and they must be collected from the club by a parent/carer or guardian by 6pm. 

Our After School Club sessions cost £10.00 per child, £19.00 for 2 siblings.

We offer a free taster session so that you and your child/children can try before you start. 
We do not require a registration fee and there is no commitment. 


Holiday Club

Our Holiday Club runs Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays during every half term (with the exception of Christmas). Our sessions run from 8am-6pm and we offer full and half day sessions. Our Holiday Club is based on free play, where the children can decide what they would like to do and with a variety of trips and activities, they will never be bored. 
 

A packed lunch must be provided for your child/children if they will be with us for lunch time, but we do provide all children with small, healthy snacks and drinks throughout the day. 

A full day session is £26.00 per child and a half day session (4 hours) is £13.00 per child. 

We pride ourselves on having accommodating, flexible and affordable childcare.

We understand that working patterns and circumstances can change, that's why we only charge you for the sessions which your child/children attend. 

In order for us to try and make our clubs accessible to all, we accept childcare vouchers and the 'Welsh Government Childcare Scheme'.

Playhouses

We were very lucky to receive the Co-OP Community Fund in 2018. Brian worked very hard building our brand new playhouses, creating much needed play space and storage for our club.

After School Club Places

The After School Club & Holiday Club run by Porthcawl YMCA are both registered with CIW (Care Inspectorate Wales) and delivers play sessions in line with the National Minimum Standards for Childcare, offering a range of fun based activities around craft, the environment, expression and movement. 
 
Both our clubs offer the best quality childcare for children aged 3-11 years, meeting the individual needs of each child. 
 
'We strongly believe that children learn best through play and first hand experiences'.
 
Our dedicated staff enhance each child's play experience, ensuring that our children reach their full potential. 

All our staff are trained and DBS checked. We encourage continuous training. Our senior member of staff currently hold a Level 5 in Playwork and his deputy has recently achieved her Level 5. The other members of staff are studying for their level 3.
Our staff also make sure that they keep their knowledge of First aid, Child Protection, Food Hygiene and all other relevant training up to date, by attending regular training courses.
